NTSE 2020 Stage-1 & Stage-2 Official Schedule | Check Exam Dates, Eligibility, Exam Pattern, Application Form and Fee Details

NTSE 2020 Stage 1 and Stage 2 exam dates and schedule has been released by NCERT Delhi.

The official NTSE 2020 Notification has been issued on July 17, 2019. National Talent Search Examination popularly known as NTSE is conducted by National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) for identifying and nurturing the talented students who want to pursue higher education in Science and Social Studies streams.

Based on student’s scores in Mental Ability Test, Scholastic Aptitude Test, and Interview, the NTSE scholarships will be distributed. Alike last year, 2000 scholarships will be awarded this year for different stages.

a) Scholarship of Rs. 1250/- per month for class XI and XII
b) Scholarship of Rs. 2000/- per month for Undergraduate and postgraduate
c) Amount of scholarship for Ph.D. is fixed in accordance with the UGC norms.

NTSE Eligibility Criteria

Students of class X studying in recognized schools are eligible to appear for the Stage-1 exam, conducted by the States/UTs, in which the schools are located. There will be no domicile restriction. Students registered under Open Distance Learning (ODL) will also be eligible for the scholarship, provided the student is below the age of 18 years (as on 1st July of the particular year), the student is not employed and she/he is appearing in class X examination for the first time. Those students who quality NTSE Stage 1 are eligible for NTSE Stage 2.

NTSE 2020 Exam Dates

NTSE will be conducted in two stages:

NTSE Stage 1 exam will be held on November 2, 3 & 17, 2019.
The stage 2 exam will be held on May 10, 2020.

Only those who qualify Stage 1 NTSE 2020 exam will be called for the Stage 2 exam, to be held in may 2020.

The Official NTSE 2020 Stage 1 & Stage 2 Notification by NCERT

National talent search examination on November 17

The National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) conducted by the National Council of Education Research and Training ( NCERT) will be held on November 17 across the state. The purpose of the scheme is to identify talented students and nurture them.

The examination is for students of standard X. The stage one of the exam is scheduled on November 17 and stage II will be held on May 11, 2014.

A total of 1,000 scholarships, each carrying Rs 500 per month will be given to students. Of the total scholarships, 15% will be reserved for students belonging to the scheduled caste category, 7.5% for students belonging to scheduled tribe category and 3% for physically challenged students.

The exam will be based on mental ability and scholastic aptitude test which will include language-based questions.

  • Stage I exam date: 17 November, 2013
  • Stage II exam date: May every year
